Job summary

Sirona care & health CIC is hiring an Assistant Business Intelligence Business Partner for a 22.5-hour per week fixed-term contract (30 months) in Yate. The role supports turning data into actionable insights, guiding managers, and delivering NHS reporting requirements.

You will contribute to the BI team’s services, enabling evidence-based decisions and improvement of outcomes for communities served in the NHS framework.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of national health and social care services, standards, data quality targets, and reporting requirements.
  • GDPR rules for safe data transfer
  • Significant BI team experience or similar role
  • Excellent presentation skills, spoken and written
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in data presentation (e.g. SPCs, trajectories)
  • Experience working with managers at different levels within an organisation

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to Service Leads to ensure data sources are used appropriately.
  • Support healthcare services undergoing significant change in reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine data analysis requirements and develop plans.
  • Lead design and development of analytical solutions (e.g., dashboards) for self-service analytics.
  • Investigate analytical issues within performance monitoring and provide narrative.
  • Address contract compliance monitoring findings with Contract Manager as needed

The Business Intelligence Team plays a pivotal role at the heart of the organisation, turning data into insight and insight into action. We ensure all statutory and contractual reporting is delivered accurately and on time, meeting the expectations of internal teams as well as external stakeholders such as commissioners. Business Intelligence will increasingly be of strategic significance, supplying the organisation with the insight required to manage budgets effectively, spot trends, and steer the organisation toward long‑term goals. Our Intelligence helps shape the direction of the organisation, influence future investment, and unlock opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide advice and guidance to Service Leads to ensure that they utilise the best data sources in their work, taking into account factors such as proposed use, data relevance, quality, timeliness and completeness.
  • Support healthcare services that are undergoing significant change in reporting
  • Work effectively with stakeholders to determine their data analysis requirements and to develop plans to meet those needs
  • Lead on the design and development of analytical solutions, e.g. benchmark dashboards, to enable self-service analytics for business and clinical users
  • Investigate analytical issues within performance monitoring and provide supporting narrative.
  • Investigate performance issues and/or non-compliance identified through the contract compliance monitoring process, bringing these to the attention of the Contract Manager as necessary

Skills, knowledge and Experience
  • Strong understanding of national health and social care services, standards, data quality targets, and reporting requirements
  • Have understanding and knowledge of GDPR rules to ensure safe transfer of data both internally and Externally
  • Significant experience working in a business intelligence team or similar role.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation skills, both spoken and written
  • Able to identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in data presentation (e.g. use of SPCs, trajectories)
  • Experience of working with a range of managers at different levels within an organisation
Education & Training
  • Good IT literacy including knowledge of reporting tools eg Microsoft PowerBi, and excellent excel skills
  • Ability to work with data from a variety of sources (e.g., EMIS, ESR, SAGE, Ulysses).
  • Ability to document reporting processes.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, SOPs, and Data Quality Improvement Plans (DQIPs).
  • Evidence of the ability to resolve routine and non-routine problems using sound logic and attention to detail
  • Experience in using Power BI (or equivalent Visualisation Tool)
  • Experience of applied problem solving within the NHS and/or Public Sector
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant analytical, data, or informatics field.
