We are looking to recruit an Assistant / Graduate Building Surveyor to join our expanding Exeter team. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their career in a multidisciplinary environment, delivering a wide range of building surveying services. Our work is varied and engaging, serving high-profile clients across sectors such as government, commercial, and residential.

This recruitment is driven by our practice’s success and anticipated growth in 2024 and beyond. The role offers the opportunity to work within a renowned international consultancy, on projects of various sizes across the South-west and further afield.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct measured and condition surveys, inspections, and prepare schedules, managing minor works projects in the South-west.
  • Handle smaller projects independently and support on larger projects under supervision.
  • Prepare design documents, specifications, drawings, and schedules of works.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with clients and technical specialists.
  • Contribute technical expertise to enhance team quality and knowledge.
  • Manage client relationships and project service delivery alongside senior colleagues.
  • Support business development efforts for new and repeat clients.

Requirements:

  • RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree.
  • Strong all-round surveying knowledge and skills.
  • Ambition to grow within a consultancy environment.
  • Commitment to pursuing RICS APC and achieving Chartered status.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and IT skills (including MS Word and Excel); knowledge of AutoCAD, NBS Chorus, and REVIT is desirable.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety protocols.
  • Driving license; own car preferred but not essential.
