Assistant Building Surveyor – Brighton
Residential & Public Sector Focus | Up to £40,000 + APC Support

A respected multidisciplinary consultancy in Brighton is looking for an ambitious Assistant Building Surveyor to join their team. With a strong client base across the residential and public sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to gain broad project exposure and progress your career towards chartership.

The role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of professional and project-based surveying services. You'll work alongside senior surveyors on everything from defect diagnosis to contract administration and new-build projects—ideal for someone looking to build a well-rounded foundation and achieve MRICS status.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out building surveys, site inspections, and defect analysis

Support the delivery of refurbishment, maintenance, and new-build projects

Assist in preparing schedules of work, specifications, and technical reports

Work with clients, contractors, and consultants throughout project delivery

Contribute to contract administration and procurement processes

Monitor project budgets and timelines

Ensure compliance with current building regulations and health & safety standards

Requirements

RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying

  • Ideally currently enrolled on your APC

At least a year's worth of experience in a building surveying role (including placements)

Strong communication and report-writing skills

Eager to progress and work towards chartered status

Organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and within a team

Full UK driving licence
