Job summary

A leading consultancy in the built environment sector is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor in Birmingham. You will assist the Director and work on various projects, focusing on Building Pathology, Energy Efficiency, and post-contract management. A minimum of one year's experience in a PQS practice and a BSc in Building Surveying or an RICS-accredited degree are essential. Competitive salary range of £25,000 - £30,000 offered.

Qualifications

  • At least one year’s practical experience in a PQS practice is required.
  • Knowledge of the affordable housing sector is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on Building Pathology and Dilapidations.
  • Assist on suitable Energy Efficiency and Insulation techniques.
  • Assist in pre-contract commercial management.
  • Assist in financial control of projects through to completion.
  • Assist in post-contract commercial management.
  • Create a team environment committed to producing quality outcomes.
  • Gain the confidence of the client and become the focal point for communication.
  • Ensure control procedures are in place and adhered to.

Our client is a leading consultancy in the built environment sector, seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will report to and assist the Director on a broad range of projects, ensuring the best value for the client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist on Building Pathology and Dilapidations
  • Assist on suitable Energy Efficiency and Insulation techniques
  • Assist in pre-contract commercial management including procurement strategies, cost estimates for authorization process, prepare tender documents, assess tender returns, etc.
  • Assist in financial control of projects through to completion
  • Assist in post-contract commercial management
  • Assist in the collation of cost data for benchmarking purposes
  • Create a team environment committed to producing quality outcomes
  • Gain the confidence of the client and become the focal point for communication
  • Ensure control procedures are in place and adhered to in all areas of the business

Experience:
