Job description

Nationwide Consultancy specializing in Architecture & Surveying is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor for their new, high-specification Manchester office.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects across the UK, including education refurbishments, high-rise residential, and commercial office fit-outs.

The consultancy provides excellent development opportunities and support from Chartered Building Surveyors, ideal for those aiming to complete their APC and achieve MRICS status.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking building surveys, site inspections, and measured surveys
  • Drafting plans, sections, and elevations using CAD software
  • Preparing Schedules of Work and Specifications for maintenance and construction projects
  • Producing feasibility reports
  • Managing sub-consultants and contractors, providing project management and contract administration (NEC3/JCT)
  • Delivering contract administration services
  • Organizing meetings and managing project documentation
  • Assisting senior surveyors with condition and asset management surveys, including Party Wall services
  • Monitoring project costs against budgets
  • Supporting the commercial team and other surveyors within the firm
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Building Surveying (RICS accredited) or equivalent
  • Passion for Building Surveying and career development towards MRICS
  • Understanding of standard building contracts and the duties of a Contract Administrator
