CBRE is seeking an Assistant Building Manager for our Manchester team. You will supervise a team responsible for coordinating a range of departmental and financial activities on behalf of a client or group.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, knowledge of BMS/CMMS systems, and strong organisational skills. You will ensure compliance with real estate regulations and CBRE QHSE standards while supporting operations with best-practice initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or relevant health & safety compliance experience.
  • Experience with BMS and CMMS systems.
  • Building regulation knowledge (LOLER, PUWER, Work at Height, Fire Safety).
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team responsible for coordinating departmental and financial activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery with Market Leaders.
  • Verify vendor management data accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, expenses, and contract execution processes.
  • Ensure consistent and timely service and support from the team.
  • Lead data integrity reviews across systems and ensure compliance with policy and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in developing best practices, policies, and initiatives to support operations.
  • Participate in internal audits (ISO, LEED/WELL, CBRE QHSE audits).
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, QHSE standards and client requirements.

About The Role

As a CBRE Assistant Building Manager, you will supervise a team responsible for the coordination of a variety of departmental and financial activities.

This job is part of the Property Management job function. They are responsible for operating buildings on behalf of a client or group.

What You’ll Do
  • Work with multiple Market Leaders to identify opportunities to improve service delivery to customers.
  • Verify the database of vendor management information is accurate and up to date.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, billings, expense reports, accounts receivables, and contract execution process.
  • Ensure service and support provided by the team is consistent and timely.
  • Responsible for review of data integrity across systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, real estate law, and QHSE regulations.
  • Assist with the development of best practices, policies, procedures, and initiatives to support operations.
  • Participate in the internal audit process i.e. ISO Audits, LEED/WELL, CBRE QHSE Audits, etc.
  • To carry out regular inspection audits of the site core areas, including quality standards, QHSE, and any other client requirements.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • IOSH Managing Safely, or experience in monitoring Health & Safety compliance obligations
  • Experience working with BMS & CMMS Systems
  • Building Regulation Knowledge i.e. LOLER, PUWER, Work at Height, Fire Safety etc
  • Requires the ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a master- level inquisitive mindset.
  • Good personal organisation; time management and the ability to prioritise
