Overview

The Assistant BIM Engineer will play a key role within the Digital Project Delivery (DPD) team and support project teams in developing, managing, and delivering multi-disciplinary BIM standards & digital strategy. As an Assistant BIM Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to implement, develop, and manage a successful BIM process from pre-contract to project delivery and handover.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in St Albans.

Responsibilities

• Support the pre-construction team in reviewing tender documents (including Works Information, EIR, etc.) to identify clients' BIM and digital requirements.
• Provide technical review of 3D BIM models received at tender stage for federation, engineering checks, clash detection, logistics, and cost management.
• Support the production and delivery of project BEP, MIDP, MPDT, and ensure internal project teams and external parties are fully aware of their responsibilities.
• Work with the planning team to develop, coordinate, and deliver 4D BIM models.
• Develop and coordinate visualizations and interactive 3D models.
• Lead the DPD kick-off meeting (jointly with the Information Manager) with the project management team to review and finalize the DPD strategy.
• Support and mentor BIM Engineers as required.

Experience

• 5+ years' experience working on multi-disciplinary projects with BIM Level 2 requirements.
• Experience with BIM documentation is essential for this role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction, computing, or a related discipline. Experience with Navisworks, Lumion, and other rendering software is desirable.
• Completed a third-level qualification in construction, computing, or a related discipline.
