The Assistant Bidding Manager will support the business by planning and managing the bid process and delivering tender responses aligned with the company's brand, position, and processes. This role is a 12-month maternity cover, assisting the bid lead in translating win strategies and business objectives into compelling, error-free documents and presentations. The role involves project managing bid activities, coordinating meetings, collation of corporate information, and administrative tasks within the Mace Bid Process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting workshops and research to analyze client goals, drivers, and ambitions, aligned with Mace governance.
  • Reviewing tender documentation to support relevant priorities.
  • Conducting detailed research on clients, projects, scope, stakeholders, and competitors.
  • Following the Mace Bid Process to deliver high-quality, client-focused proposals.
  • Analyzing tender documents to define client requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Supporting bid planning, monitoring progress, and highlighting interdependencies.
  • Coordinating internal and external progress meetings.
  • Disseminating and responding to client tender clarifications.
  • Assisting in drafting standard content, CVs, and project profiles.
  • Proofreading and editing responses for compliance and clarity.
  • Ensuring reviews and sign-offs are completed per process.
  • Creating supporting content such as printed models and presentations.
  • Capturing new content in the Work Winning Content Hub.
  • Sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Supporting initiatives to improve team performance and capability.
  • Contributing to the goal of net zero carbon transition by managing associated emissions.

Minimum requirements:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written English with editing skills.
  • Ability to manage delivery through colleagues and external suppliers.
  • Empathy and client focus.
  • Positive challenge and influence skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and familiarity with Mural and Qorus tools.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to stakeholder care, detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional appearance.

Preferred additional skills:

  • Understanding of professional services or building/property industries.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign.
  • Membership in professional bodies such as APMP or CIM.
