This role involves supporting the Aviation Safety & Quality Team, processing safety reports, and developing necessary competencies. Overall purpose of the Job


To support the Aviation Safety & Quality Team in maintaining the effectiveness of the Company Management System (including Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Compliance Monitoring System (CMS)) by the timely and effective performance of safety related activities.
Such activities will include Safety Report processing, trend analysis, liaison with personnel across the Company on Safety Reports, participation in safety campaigns/initiatives, assisting with development of safety related training, dealing with external organisations and involvement with specific Projects when needed.


In addition, use the above as a means to develop, coupled with specific training where required, to develop the competencies needed for the Safety Officer role.

Main
To perform the following in the process of developing competencies for the Safety Officer role:


● Assisting in processing of Safety Reports when raised,
● Inputting and analysing Safety Report data to establish trends to focus action,
● Assisting the writing/amending of Company documentation.
● Assisting with the management of Company documentation.
● Assisting internal investigations to maintenance errors (MEDA).
● Assisting CAA MOR/MAA DASOR investigations.
● Assisting with the creation of Safety, Quality and Compliance related promotions and activities.
● Actively participating in Company projects when needed.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential
● Engineering related experience and/or education.

Note: Equivalency will be considered where appropriate so competency can be demonstrated.

Desirable
● Up to 2 years industry related experience in an aviation engineering related environment.
● Experience using related Regulations and Standards.
● Supporting an effective Management System.
● Experienced in the use of MS Office and/or Google Workspace applications.

Note: A Training Development Plan will be agreed upon commencement of employment on the above desirable aspects where needed so don’t feel concerned if you lack all/some.


Education, Qualifications or Training


Essential
● Good grades in at least five GCSEs or Level 2 Apprenticeship in a related subject


Desirable
● Aviation Safety training and supporting qualification eg. Level 4 Apprenticeship, Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship
● HNC qualification in related subject.
● Aviation engineering, safety, quality, compliance background.

Additional requirements
● Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, ideally at the level Security Check (SC).

● Hold a valid driving licence.
● Hold a valid passport.
