Following the recent economic downturn, this Top-50 accountancy practice has emerged successfully, maintaining a high level of service and winning new business through recommendations. Consequently, my client seeks an accomplished and high-caliber ACA or ACCA qualified Assistant Audit Manager.

This role involves managing a sizeable client portfolio (up to £500k fees) while delivering excellent service, including business advisory work alongside compliance services.

The client base includes owner-managed businesses and subsidiaries of overseas companies, with turnovers ranging from £1m to £50m, involving diverse activities and group accounting aspects.

Internally, managers are expected to contribute to office operations and staff training.

As a senior firm representative, you will prepare and present new business pitches, honing your skills for future leadership roles.

Typical duties include:

• Managing audit assignments
• Reviewing audit planning, budgets, and timetables with clients
• Allocating work, briefing, and controlling teams, ensuring timetables compliance
• Handling corporation tax work, including tax planning and computations
• Managing portfolio finances, including fee raising and recoveries
• Attending client account finalization meetings
• Training and appraising staff
• Maintaining strong client relationships
• Participating in ad-hoc projects like valuations and due diligence
