Purpose of the Job

Responsible for recording, checking, and posting a large volume of varied transactions daily, verifying data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with Donors and Bank policies and procedures.

The individual must work closely with internal and external clients, utilizing various systems and meeting strict deadlines.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  1. Check Bank and Donor funded invoices against contracts, agreements, or policies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  2. Guide the Bank’s Budget Officers and staff to adhere to policies, practices, and guidelines.
  3. Liaise with clients to exchange information, clarify facts, and resolve queries or issues.
  4. Check and post parked journals, ensuring proper authorizations and correct postings from G/L accounts, cost centres, and WBS elements.
  5. Review and process travel and expense claims, ensuring adherence to policies and addressing inconsistencies.
  6. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and coordinate with internal parties to clear outstanding items.
  7. Manage the Monthly Financial Reconciliation of the BAS and Investment Council Offices in countries of operation.
  8. Oversee the financial overview of Resident Offices.
  9. Supervise the cost recovery process, review client cost-sharing agreements, and ensure costs are recovered per legal agreements.
  10. Prepare and submit tax recovery claims to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
  11. Authorize Donor Funded payment requests, ensuring funds are available prior to disbursement.
  12. Implement continuous improvements to procedures and processes.
  13. Generate reports and data summaries to support banking activities.
  14. Train new team members to meet team objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Degree-level education.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Experience working accurately under strict deadlines.
  • Finance sector experience, including understanding contractual documentation, is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Additional languages are beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
