Job summary

EBRD in London seeks an Assistant Analyst to support the Business Development Unit with research, market materials, and database maintenance. You will assist in preparing presentations and briefing packs for senior management, coordinate events, and ensure information is accurate and up-to-date across multiple databases.

A proactive, precise, and collaborative approach is required in a fast-paced international environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with specialisation in finance/business. Master’s degree desirable.
  • Corporate and/or business development, marketing, and research experience from a leading investment/merchant or commercial organisation.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of banking project cycle would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of some marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of Banking Department's procedures and the Bank's rules would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare marketing materials for meetings (Briefing Packs, presentations) as required.
  • Maintain and update marketing materials (presentations, deal tombstones, etc.).
  • Update Business Development databases (Client Dynamics, BTOR, Slides Library, BD intranet, external BD page).
  • Ensure timely responses to information requests and maintain accessibility of information.
  • Coordinate conferences and events, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Prepare and coordinate sign-offs on documents in a timely manner.

Purpose of /Job

Business Development is an essential part of the business cycle to help ensure the sustainability of the Bank’s pipeline, to support its overall external visibility, and to expand the Bank’s network across the regions and investor base. The set of business development deliverables requires a systematic strategic approach to outlook and planning; consistent leadership externally as well as internally across several teams; and constant innovation in respect of business development delivery products, channels, and formats.

The Assistant Analyst provides pro-active research and analytical support in their day-to-day activities to BDU team members in HQ.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Contribute, as and when required by the Principal, Business Development Lead, to the preparation of marketing business development visits of EBRD senior management (includes President, FVP, VP Banking and MDs)
  • Help research, analyse, and prepare marketing materials for meetings (comprehensive Briefing Packs, presentations, etc as and when required)
  • Responsible for maintaining and regularly updating essential marketing materials (including but not limited to presentations, deal tombstones, etc.)
  • Maintain and update in a timely manner existing Business Development databases (Client Dynamics , BTOR, Slides Library, , BD intranet area and external BD webpage;)
  • Maintain accessibility and quality of relevant information and respond to information requests in a timely manner.
  • Primary responsibility for maintaining Project Enquiries and New Business Enquiries mailboxes ensuring timely response to all incoming enquiries.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other material for meetings / committees.
  • As and when required, assist with the preparation and coordination of conferences and events BDU is involved in, paying the utmost attention to details, and troubleshooting on the day to ensure that all runs smoothly and to time.
  • Obtain the appropriate sign off on documents when required ensuring that they are signed or coordinated in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with specialisation in finance/business. Master’s degree desirable.
  • Corporate and/or business development, marketing, and research experience from a leading investment/merchant or commercial organisation.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of banking project cycle would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and understanding of some marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of Banking Department's procedures and the Bank's rules would be an advantage.
Skills:
  • Fluent English language both written and spoken; knowledge of another language relevant to the Bank’s regions would be an advantage.
  • Good sense of priorities, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise work with continuously changing priorities.
  • Very good attention to detail.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work with precision and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
Key technical skills:
  • Computer literate ( full Microsoft 365 suite), knowledge and maintenance of various BDU databases (BTOR, Client Dynamics, Slides Library and Documentum), knowledge of Bank’s systems (SAP, DTM,, Business Performance Navigator, Data Warehouse), internet search engines
  • Prior experience in central and eastern Europe/former Soviet Union, SEMED and/or SSA is desirable.
