Job description

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are excited to be working with a fantastic business in the Rotherham area as they look to recruit an established Assistant Accountant with hands-on purchasing experience into their team.

Reporting to and supporting the Finance Manager, you will be joining a small friendly team, as a pivotal role within the finance and operations team. The role will be predominantly finance-focused but will also hold responsibility for some of the buying activities. They are looking for a team player who is keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in, with strong Excel skills and the ability to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities include:
  • Monthly Stock Controls
  • Monthly Stock Costings
  • Prepayments/Accruals
  • Fixed Assets
  • HR/Payroll
  • Posted Journals /Cashbook/Petty Cash Reconciliations
  • Assisting with development of spreadsheets
  • Preparation of Management and Annual accounts
  • Adhoc Reporting to Group
  • Filing of National Statistics
  • VAT Returns including Reconciliation
  • Generating purchase orders
  • Tracking stock and managing budgets
  • Managing order book and scheduling
  • Maintaining communication with other departments
  • Maintaining Commodity/Import codes
  • Reporting to Group
  • Admin of import documents and liaising with clearing agents
  • Basic administrative duties
Person Specification:
