Job description

An opportunity has arisen to provide effective financial support across the organisation through accurate reporting, team leadership, and process improvement. You will be highly organised, proactive, and able to collaborate confidently with colleagues and external partners, with experience in a similar role and ideally in leading a small team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and assisting in the development of annual budgets.
  • Contributing to day-to-day finance functions including banking, treasury management, accounts payable and receivable, and budget monitoring.
  • Providing accurate financial analysis and reporting to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Assisting with VAT return preparation and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  • Playing a key role in year-end audit preparation, ensuring all records and supporting data are maintained to audit standard.
  • Managing and supporting a small team, including overseeing workload, performance, and training requirements.
  • Acting as an authorised signatory for financial transactions within approved limits.
  • Contributing to system improvements including software testing, staff training, and supporting the implementation of new tools.
  • Providing cover for other team members as needed to maintain departmental continuity.
  • Participating in cross-functional meetings and contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, with a sound understanding of core financial processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce meaningful financial insights.
  • Confident using financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience of managing or mentoring staff, with the ability to support performance and development.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and professionalism in all tasks.
