Michael Page is partnering with a well-established housing organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant. The role covers end-to-end service charge processes, budgeting, reconciliations, and cost recoveries within a collaborative finance team.

Based on a hybrid pattern, you will engage with budget holders and support residents on service charge enquiries. The ideal candidate will have service charge finance experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to explain complex financial

Formación

• Experience in a service charge finance environment, ideally in housing, property management or a regulated sector.
• Strong understanding of service charge budgeting, reconciliations and cost recovery processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Manage end-to-end service charge process, including budgets and year-end reconciliations.
• Produce and validate annual service charge statements and cost recoveries.
• Analyse service charge expenditure and variances across schemes and estates.
• Review invoice coding and identify mispostings or allocation issues.
• Prepare month-end accruals and prepayments.
• Liaise with budget holders and stakeholders on large variances.
• Support external audit requirements relating to service charge accounts.
• Maintain tenant account records and assist with year-end adjustments.
• Manage portfolio of schemes and undertake site visits to assist residents with service charge enquiries.
• Assist development teams in setting charges for new properties.
