Assistant Accountant - Llantrisant - 6-month contract

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home - flexible on which days) Salary: £33,000-£34,000
Type: 6-month fixed-term

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a role where you can make an impact? We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support key financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and reconciliations within a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee banking administration, ensuring security of funds and fraud prevention.
  • Perform weekly/monthly bank reconciliations, supporting financial reporting.
  • Manage procurement card system, including reconciliations, coding, and user training.
  • Prepare cash flow updates and quarterly forecasts, supporting treasury management.
  • Complete monthly VAT returns, liaising with HMRC for timely transactions.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial integrity.
  • Assist with year-end closure and preparation of audit schedules.
  • Provide system administration support, troubleshooting financial processes as required.
  • Support ad hoc payments and payroll transactions, liaising with internal departments.
