Job description

As an Assistant Accountant at Hill, you'll be a key part of our Residential Finance team, helping deliver accurate financial reporting for our Investment Partnerships. You'll prepare monthly management accounts, support board reporting and audits, and collaborate with teams across the business to ensure data integrity and insight at every stage of the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on, development-focused role-ideal for someone progressing toward qualification and looking to build experience in a fast-paced, collaborative finance environment. What you'll do:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for Investment Partnerships
  • Support with balance sheet reconciliations and financial risk reviews
  • Assist with funding summaries, loan drawdown requests and board reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align financial data with project progress
  • Help prepare audit packs and support external audit processes
  • Maintain accounting records to audit-ready standards in line with company policy
  • Support with VAT returns and ensure accuracy across CIS and PAYE
  • Assist with cashflow reporting, bank reconciliations and statutory account reviews
  • Contribute to system improvements, process reviews, and JV reporting
  • Work toward completing your ACCA qualification (if not already done)

    Part-qualified accountant (ACCA or AAT qualified)
  • Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in preparing management accounts and financial reporting
  • Understanding of VAT, PAYE and CIS processes
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • GCSEs (Maths & English, Grade 4+), A-Levels, and Degree required
