Industrial Placements are only applicable for university students and will be a 12-month fixed term contract, commencing summer 2026 and ending summer 2027.

How you'll play your part

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out varied tasks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data, and undertake reconciliations related to the company accounts to meet statutory and company month‑end reporting deadlines.

Main Accountabilities
  • Assist in daily Treasury procedures using Bloomberg software and provide economic explanations to non‑Finance staff.
  • Support the delivery of daily business report summaries to various departments.
  • Complete external surveys for the Office for National Statistics, the Bank of England and the FLA within tight time frames.
  • Assist in month‑end activities, including raising journals and running operating expenditure reports for all departments within MBFS.
  • Invoice partner companies for subsidy payments.
  • Support account reconciliations for different individuals within the Finance department.
  • Undertake ad‑hoc tasks/analysis as requested by management or the team, including project work as priorities change during the year.
  • Attend and support preparation for meetings with senior Directors.
About you
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Good knowledge of SAP desirable, with training provided.
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve results while promoting company behavioural values.
  • Flexible and able to multi‑task to meet specified deadlines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to learn tasks quickly and make appropriate decisions.
  • Analytical, investigative and strong reconciliation skills.
  • Good time‑management skills, with responsibility for planning and prioritising workload.
  • Effective communicator with Finance and non‑Finance staff of all levels.
