Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Glasgow is seeking an Assistant Accountant to develop management accounting experience within a supportive finance team. You will take ownership of month-end, management accounts and financial reporting, with substantial Excel use and collaboration across the organisation.

The role offers a flexible hybrid arrangement, including one day from home, and a supportive team environment within a well-established charity sector client.

Qualifications

• Must understand accruals & prepayments and be able to calculate them independently.
• Experience with monthly management accounts and P&L reporting across locations.
• Experience preparing and posting journals and reconciling accounts.
• Solid understanding of debits and credits and accurate data entry.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Able to work well in a team while managing workload to meet deadlines.
• Desire to learn and develop within finance.

Responsibilities

Are you an Assistant Accountant looking to develop your management accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative finance team?

I am recruiting on behalf of a well established charitable organisation in Glasgow that is looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation and wants to take greater ownership of month end, management accounts and financial reporting.

You will be joining a friendly and experienced finance team where you will have the opportunity to continue developing your skills while making a genuine contribution to the wider organisation.

The Role

Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparing profit and loss reporting across multiple locations
• Calculating and processing accruals and prepayments
• Preparing and posting journals
• Supporting month end processes and financial reporting
• Reviewing financial information and identifying discrepancies
• Assisting with reconciliations and resolving accounting queries
• Using Excel extensively for financial analysis and reporting
• Communicating with colleagues across the wider organisation
• Taking ownership of your workload and ensuring deadlines are met
