Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an established distribution business in Havant. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to improved processes and develop within an expanding finance function.

You will manage purchase and sales ledgers, prepare supplier payments and customer invoicing, and perform month-end reconciliations and journals. SAP/ Sage 50 experience and strong Excel skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 or equivalent is required.
• Confident preparing month-end journals and meeting deadlines.
• Strong Excel capabilities including lookups, SUMIFS and PivotTables.

Responsibilities

• Manage accurate purchase and sales ledger activity and resolve queries.
• Prepare supplier payments, customer invoicing, receipt allocations and ledger documentation.
• Complete monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare and post routine month-end journals including accruals and prepayments.
• Support VAT, audit, year-end and continuous improvement with operational colleagues and the Financial Controller.
