Job summary
Elevation Recruitment Group is looking for an Assistant Accountant in Chesterfield, UK, to join a fast-paced finance team. You will handle varied accounting duties, including reconciliations, journals, prepayments, accruals, and cashflow reporting, with exposure to month-end tasks.
The ideal candidate is part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or a recent finance graduate, with strong Excel skills and a detail-oriented, analytical mindset.
Qualifications
- AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified, or a recent Finance graduate.
- Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines around month-end/year-end.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet, P&L and intercompany reconciliations
- Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register
- Preparing and posting journals
- Managing prepayments and accruals
- Supporting the preparation of cashflow forecasts and cashflow reporting
- Reviewing and processing employee expenses
- Assisting with weekly and monthly financial reporting
- Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure information is accurate and delivered on time
