Are you a detail-driven finance professional ready to take the next step in your accounting career? We’re seeking an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a dynamic, fast-paced team where your analytical mindset and precision will directly support strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a pivotal role in the month-end process and financial reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts (accruals, prepayments, journals)
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and supporting overhead/variance analysis
  • Managing month-end close and delivering reports to key stakeholders
  • Conducting bank and petty cash reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Supporting audit preparation and responding to auditor queries
  • Producing ad-hoc management information using Excel and supporting wider finance initiatives

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a proactive team player with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement. You’ll need:

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting role – essential
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) – essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills – essential
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) – desirable
  • Experience with legal finance or compliance (e.g. SAR) – a plus
