Senior Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant
Maternity Cover for a minimum of 15 months
SJC Partners are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Accounts Assistant to provide maternity cover with the potential opportunity to be made permanent. In this vital role, you ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and contribute to the smooth financial running of a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain precise and current financial records
- Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly management accounts
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review
- Submit CIS returns using Xero
- Generate and process sales invoices and other financial documentation
- Oversee credit control processes
- Support the production of financial reports for shareholder meetings
- Assist in the creation of budgets and financial planning
- Perform general administrative and ad hoc accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications and Experience:- AAT qualified or equivalent experience in a similar accounting role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Previous experience using Xero accounting software is beneficial
