Assistant Accountant

Our client is a small but rapidly growing accounting firm with an eye for detail and flair for client service. They now have an exciting career opportunity for an active AAT studier to join their team in Surrey.

Applications are welcome from candidates who have started their career in finance, either with another practice, or perhaps you have worked within the commercial sector and now seek a move into a supportive firm of accountants.

You will join a close-knit and friendly team, working closely with experienced accountants - so this is a fantastic place to develop your technical skills. They also have an impressive range of clients, including those from music and entertainment, owner-managed businesses, and high net worth individuals.

The duties are varied and will involve:

1. General Bookkeeping
2. Calculation of VAT returns
3. Management Accounts production
4. Assisting with Payroll

The role will also develop to include the preparation of year-end accounts and assisting with Personal Tax and Corporate Tax returns and compliance.

A range of modern IT systems are used, including Xero; any experience of Xero will be advantageous.

The working hours are 9am to 5pm and the role is office-based. The office is very close to public transport links.
