Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our COO Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to study for an accounting qualification, alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, supporting month-end processes and forecasts.

You will work with a team of accountants across Strategic Investment portfolios, helping to ensure accurate representation of numbers and providing insights into how the Society's investments are managed.

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our COO Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to study for an accounting qualification, alongside your day-to-day role.

The COO Finance Team is at the core of the activities that deliver against our Strategic Drivers. Our role is to manage and maintain Nationwide's financial strength, by ensuring we are spending our members money wisely and helping build great customer propositions to maximise income potential.

You will be supporting a team of Accountants within the COO Finance team who primarily Partner across various Strategic Investment portfolios. Helping to ensure the month end is completed and accurately represented, aiding in the preparation of forecasts and giving you valuable insight into how the Society's investment portfolios are financially managed to deliver more for our Members.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or Glasgow office. If you're based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.
