Job summary

VAREX IMAGING UK, LIMITED is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance team in a busy manufacturing setting. You will contribute to accurate financial reporting, cost control, and day-to-day accounting to ensure timely month-end processes.

The role covers accruals, journals, stock and WIP reconciliations, standard costing, fixed assets, VAT returns, and involvement with SAP/XERO systems. AAT qualification or partial ACCA/CIMA and 2–3 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in accounting or finance
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
• Experience with stock, WIP, and cost accounting desirable
• Experience using XERO and SAP

Responsibilities

• Assist month-end close including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliation
• Support management accounts and variance analysis
• Maintain stock, WIP and cost of sale reconciliations
• Assist with standard costing and production variance analysis
• Process fixed assets and depreciation
• Support VAT returns and statutory reporting
• Assist audits and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Job description

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing accurate financial reporting, cost control support, and day-to-day accounting assistance. The role is key in ensuring timely month-end processes, stock and cost accounting, and compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilitie

• sAssist with month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliation
• sSupport preparation of management accounts and variance analysi
• sMaintain and reconcile stock, WIP and cost of sale

• sResponsible for cost allocation specifically for Time allocation (timesheets) and expens
