CMA is currently working with an established SME business in Eastleigh who have forged a fantastic reputation within their industry sector. Joining a long-standing finance team, you will be responsible for supporting our finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost management and compliance with audit requirements. This is an office-based role that is easily accessible by public transport.
What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
• Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis to support business decision-making.
• Perform cost management analysis to identify areas for financial efficiency.
• Oversee Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, and Payroll functions, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.
Audit & Compliance
• Assist with external audits by preparing audit schedules and addressing auditor queries.
• Provide necessary documentation and implement recommendations from post-audit reviews.
Budgeting & Cashflow Management
• Support in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Conduct cashflow forecasting and ensure effective cashflow management.
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:
• Part qualified or Qualified by Experience (AAT or CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliation and ledger oversight
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
