Qualifications

About the Job

Reporting to the Company Accountant the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties

Key responsibilities

  • Managing all transactions within the finance department
  • Ensure all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently
  • Maintenance of both sales and purchase ledger
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Responsible for collation, posting and reconciliation of month end stocks
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and follow up issues
  • VAT submissions, Intrastat, TSS compliance and other government returns
  • Assist with cashflow management
  • Assist with the maintaining of the cost system on Sage
  • Monitor financial controls and implement changes where necessary
  • Work with external auditors at year end
  • Support Finance Manager, General Manager and wider management team in relation to accounts and reports they may need
  • Support accounts team and assist with ad hoc duties as required

Previous experience

  • Previous experience working in a busy office environment
  • Hold an Accounts Technician Qualification or Trainee/ Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
