Divisional Manager - Legal Finance & Accounting

Ambition are supporting a leading international law firm in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support financial reporting and control across UK and US entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing period-end management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Deliver monthly budget variance analysis and support budget holders with financial insights.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and post depreciation journals.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support nominal bill recharges.
  • Review staff expense claims and assist with US tax reporting.
  • Complete quarterly and annual ONS surveys.
  • Support the annual budgeting and reforecasting process.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide administrative support to the finance team.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of financial controls.
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and collaborative team player.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
