Responsibilities

  • Assisting with month-end postings and management reporting.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Maintaining weekly cashflow reports and updating data models.
  • Assisting with audit preparation and statutory accounts development.
  • Providing timely responses to inquiries and internal reporting needs.
  • Collaborating with the wider finance team for efficiency enhancement.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic finance function based in Montrose.

This role supports the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis in delivering high-quality financial information and is perfect for someone who thrives on accuracy, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About the role
You will play a key part in month-end management accounting, statutory reporting and budget support, working with systems such as Microsoft Navision, Sage Payroll and Caseware.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting with month-end postings and contributing to management reporting with accuracy and insight.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, partnering with stakeholders across the business.
  • Maintaining weekly cashflow reports and updating freight/sales data models to support financial analysis.
  • Assisting with audit preparation and the development of statutory accounts in line with IFRS.
  • Providing timely responses to statutory inquiries and internal reporting needs.
  • Collaborating with the wider finance team to support tasks, enhance efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
