Job description

Job Title: Assistant Accountant

My client is a fast-growing, service-based consultancy business located in the Knutsford area. Due to continued growth and success, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role offers the right candidate an opportunity to make an impact and establish solid foundations for the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Complete month-end processes from start to finish.
2. Prepare and post invoices, cashbooks, and journals.
3. Create P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow statements using the trial balance.
4. Provide insights and commentary through variance analysis of actual performance versus budget.
5. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and complete group reporting pack.
6. Manage debtors and credit control.
7. Collaborate with operational business leaders to provide financial support.
8. Work with the FP&A Manager on budgets and forecasts, including weekly cash forecasting.
9. Handle banking and payments, including monthly payment runs.
10. Prepare audit information.
11. Assist with statutory accounts and tax filings, including corporation tax and VAT returns.
