Assistant Accountant (fixed term contract) – North Oxfordshire – £35,000 to £38,000 - Hybrid

About the Job

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day finance operations while gaining exposure to a wide range of transactional and month-end responsibilities.

Duties will include:

  1. Supporting month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
  2. Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounts.
  3. Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs.
  4. Maintaining and updating fixed asset registers.
  5. Assisting with VAT returns and supporting audit queries.
  6. Producing financial reports and analysis as required.
  7. Acting as a first point of contact for two Finance Assistants, offering day-to-day support and oversight.
  8. Liaising with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data.

About the Successful Applicant

You will have experience working in a finance function, ideally studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA. A confident communicator with strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
