UP TO £33K DOE | ONSITE | CENTRAL EXETER

This is an exciting opportunity to join a pioneering professional services firm that is shaking up the commercial insurance space. The Role:

Working closely with an experienced Finance team including the CFO and Management Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day finance function. This is a varied and hands-on position, ideally suited to a proactive, detail-focused finance professional looking to grow with an innovative company.

Working hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant:

  • Maintain accurate daily postings of receipts and payments, reconcile bank accounts, and contribute to cash reporting
  • Manage the sales ledger, raise and upload invoices, chase outstanding debts, and reconcile debtor accounts
  • Input purchase invoices with VAT accuracy, support payment runs, and assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Provide general finance admin support including client account setup, internal project database updates, and ad hoc reporting

Key Requirements of the Assistant Accountant:

  • ACCA qualified or part-qualified accountant with hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a dynamic workload
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage preferred) and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • A team player with a problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills
