Job summary

The ONE Group are partnering with a Saffron Walden-based manufacturing business to welcome an Assistant Accountant to a small, supportive finance team. The role is open to full-time or part-time applicants (25–37.5 hours per week) and offers a varied, hands-on finance experience with exposure to transactional work and month-end duties.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage sales ledger, VAT returns, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting activities, with study support

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• AAT Level 3 or above.
• Intermediate level of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support with transactional responsibilities as required, including Sales ledger & credit control.
• Prepare VAT returns and submissions.
• Post journals, accruals & prepayments.
• Balance sheet & intercompany reconciliations.
• Support with month-end close and financial reporting activities.

The ONE Group are exclusively partnering with an established and successful manufacturing business based in Saffron Walden, who are looking to welcome an Assistant Accountant into their close-knit finance team on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on finance role, with exposure to both transactional accounting and month-end responsibilities. Working within a small, supportive finance team and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your experience, take ownership of your responsibilities and continue developing your skillset.
