INTERIM ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - 12mths

  • Essential: Part-Qual (ACCA etc) + Financial Accounting (FS company adv.)
  • £40,000 - £55,000 + package
  • Offices: City of London (WFH 3 days p/wk)

Pear Talent is representing an established financial services company who have an excellent opportunity for an Interim Assistant Accountant (12mths FTC), providing extra support to the team as they implement a new Finance system. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivering of their financial and management reporting, as well as Finance Operations (AP, Treasury etc), ensuring the business achieves its goals and meets statutory requirements.

You’ll be expected to partner across the business with other teams and senior stakeholders, taking a key role within a team that produce, analyse and deliver the external financial results.

Key accountabilities:

  • Assist the Finance Manager in oversight of the general ledger, financial accounting, accounts payable and taxation, undertaking monthly/quarterly tasks.
  • Support monthly financial accounting and management reporting, assisting month-end process and reporting.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger, including processing invoices as well as preparing and running BACS payments.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts in accordance with control spreadsheet.
  • Assist with staff expenses, which includes handling expense processing and payments.
  • Support the completion of company bank accounts reconciliations for all entities.
  • Work with the team to prepare responses to queries which our auditors may raise.
  • Contribute to Finance change and improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with other departments across the business, building effective relationships.

Required experience:

  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous financial accounting experience (financial services adv.)
  • Relevant experience of accounting systems and good Excel skills
