Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant

Brighton, East Sussex (Fully On site)

Temporary to permanent

£35,000-£40,000

We’re partnering with a well established, privately owned SME business in the heart of Brighton to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working as part of a close-knit team, and making a real impact in a growing business.

You’ll play a key part in the smooth running of the finance function, taking ownership of the day-to-day accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Handling invoice finance and overseeing debtor/creditor management
  • Preparing and running financial reports for review by SLT
  • Managing payment runs and schedules
  • Providing accurate and timely figures to support business decision-making
  • Maintaining Xero records to a high standard

About You

We’re looking for a confident finance professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload in an SME environment.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Solid experience across bookkeeping
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential)
  • Confident in managing AP/AR, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a fully onsite role
