Assistant Accountant, Temp to perm, or permanent

Your new company

Hays is proud to partner with a successful and dynamic business based in Bridgnorth, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. The company would ideally like someone on a temp-to-perm basis, although a direct permanent placement is an option for the right candidate.

Your new role

As the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial, management, and other accounting reports and related information, and for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Duties will include:

  1. Preparation of monthly purchases cost information
  2. Assisting with monthly sales reporting and analysis
  3. Assisting with monthly financial reporting
  4. Accruals, prepayments, cost allocation and other general ledger journals
  5. Reconciliation of the trial balance write ups
  6. Assisting with cost centre variance reporting
  7. Reporting of statistics
  8. Updating and maintaining the Fixed Asset register
  9. Capital/Revenue project cost reporting
  10. Assisting with the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
  11. Assistance with annual and internal audits
  12. Assisting with stock takes
What you'll need to succeed

Are you passionate about accounting and ready to take your skills to the next level? Our client is seeking a talented candidate who brings at least 2 years of accounting experience to the table. While being part-qualified in AAT, CIMA, or ACCA is a plus, it's not essential.

What truly matters is a strong grasp of accounting principles, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Adaptability and a can-do attitude are key, as you'll be navigating changing priorities with confidence.
