Assistant Accountant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a leading automotive group based in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, office-based role offering a salary of £32,000 plus a range of fantastic benefits. You’ll be working within a well-established organisation known for delivering top-tier vehicle sales and aftercare services across multiple sites. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting the production of financial reports and ensuring the smooth running of accounting operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and departmental performance analysis.
• Submit accurate quarterly VAT returns and support year-end accounts processes.
• Produce motor trade-specific composite reports and liaise with external auditors.
• Monitor profit and loss, balance sheets, and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver key business insights and support financial decision-making.

What Experience is Required

• Part-qualified or currently studying towards a CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced finance environment, ideally within the motor trade or automotive sector.
