Job summary

CV Screen is recruiting an Assistant Accountant for a multi-site business based in Borehamwood. The role offers up to £34,000 plus benefits and provides exposure to senior leadership within a busy finance function.

You will own core transactional activities, support site teams, and contribute to management accounts and year-end audit processes in a commercially focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar transactional finance role.
• Strong reconciliation skills and ability to handle high volumes of data.
• Proficient with Excel.
• Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly trading data from sites and investigate anomalies.
• Complete bank reconciliations and ensure timely receipt of monies.
• Support cash and treasury activity, including weekly payment proposals.
• Assist with purchase ledger, credit control and payroll reconciliations.
• Produce commercial analysis and support management accounts and year-end audit.

Assistant Accountant – Borehamwood – Up to £34,000

CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a well-established, fast-growing multi-site business based in Borehamwood. A salary of up to £34,000 plus benefits is on offer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take real ownership of their role, acting as the main point of contact for operational teams across the group and gaining genuine exposure to senior leadership. Duties & Responsibilities

• Reviewing and processing weekly trading data from sites, compiling statistics and investigating any anomalies
• Completing bank reconciliations and ensuring monies are received promptly from all sources
• Supporting cash and treasury activity, including the weekly payment proposal and monitoring spend against agreed sign-off limits
• Assisting with purchase ledger, credit control and payroll reconciliations, ensuring ledgers close accurately each month
• Producing commercial analysis, flagging overspends and inefficiencies, and supporting management accounts and the year-end audit

What Experience is Required

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant or in a similar transactional finance role
• Strong reconciliation skills, confident handling high volumes of data, and good Excel ability
• Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience, with a commercial mindset and strong communication skills

Salary & Benefits

A salary of up to £34,000 is available, plus a competitive benefits package. Hours are 9am–5pm, with some flexibility needed during busier periods.

Location

The role is based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and is an easy commute from Watford, St Albans, Radlett, Barnet, Potters Bar, Edgware, Enfield and Hemel Hempstead.
