Job Description
Your key duties will include:
- Support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Fixed asset monitoring and reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of journals and accruals
- Year end close-down activities
- Financial accounts preparation and documentation for audit
- Working with internal and external auditors
- Government data returns preparation and submission
- KPI data calculations
- VAT return preparation
- Tax return preparation
- Taxable expense calculations
- Maintenance of financial system code lists
- Monitoring of central email boxes
- Resolution of queries
- Continuous improvement of processes
- Other ad hoc tasks to support the Financial Controller
The Successful Applicant
Candidates will need to have:
- Qualified to AAT or equivalent (e.g., finance or accounting university degree)
- Minimum of 3 years finance work experience
- Experience of using a finance system
- Public Sector finance experience (desirable)
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Good financial record keeping
- Experience of reconciling financial data
- Proficient in using Excel
- Ability to analyze and present data using spreadsheet skills
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial planning
- Experience of finance system administration and maintenance (desirable)
- Good organization and self-management skills
- Attention to detail and numerical accuracy

Salary: £25,943 - £35,327 per annum.
