Job summary

Citizen Housing Group is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. You will report to the Accountant and support across the business with financial and performance information.

The role focuses on providing accurate financial support to Budget Holders, producing management accounts and forecasts, and developing reporting from the Open Accounts system. Hybrid working with 2 days in the office is available in Birmingham.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C including Maths and English.
• AAT Level 3 or working towards CCAB within 12 months.
• Ability to present and explain data analysis to stakeholders.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting environment providing accurate financial information.
• Knowledge of computerised accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support to Budget Holders for effective controls and forecasting.
• Conduct budgetary control meetings to ensure proper budgeting.
• Reconcile control accounts regularly.
• Write/modify reports from the finance database (Open Accounts) and ad hoc reports as required.
• Assist in producing monthly management accounts and forecasting outturns.

Are you a driven professional seeking to make an impact in Finance? This role is in the finance department and the financial reporting team, reporting to the Accountant and supporting across the business.

The role forms a key relationship in providing financial and performance information along with your team. A key element of this is providing accurate financial support to Budget Holders.

Position: Assistant Accountant

Salary: £37,595

Location: 4040 Lakeside, B37 7YN - Hybrid (2 Days Per Week in the Office)

Hours: Permanent, Monday - Friday, 37 Hours Per Week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial advice, assistance, and support to Budget Holders in relation to income and expenditure in order for them to operate effective financial controls and forecasting.
• To undertake budgetary control meetings to ensure effective budgetary control is being carried out.
• Responsible for reconciliation of control accounts on a regular basis.
• Provide financial advice, assistance, and support to Budget Holders in relation to income and expenditure in order for them to operate effective financial controls and forecasting.
• Write or amend reports from the finance database (Open Accounts) and write ad hoc reports as requested by the Accountant.
• Support the Accountant in the production of monthly management accounts, including forecasting outturns.

Qualifications and experience:

• 5 GCSE's Grades A-C (including Maths and English), or equivalent.
• AAT level 3 qualification or part CCAB qualification or working towards within 12 months.
• Ability to present and explain the findings of data analysis to the Accountant and other stakeholders.
• Minimum 2 years' experience within an account's environment providing accurate, reliable, and timely financial information to Budget Holders.
• Knowledge of computerised accounting systems.
