Job summary

Flying Colours Consultancy Limited is seeking a mid-level Asset Verification Engineer for an on-site six-month project at Kemsley, UK.

You will conduct end-to-end asset surveys, capture data from nameplates, tag assets, and reconcile with SAP/CAFM records, while guiding junior engineers.

Expect 2–5 years in industrial maintenance or surveys, with experience in asset registers and working independently on a large site.

Qualifications

• HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering.
• 2-5 years' experience in industrial, utilities, FM, or building services environments.
• Experience with asset surveys, condition surveys, or asset register updates.
• Familiarity with SAP PM / EAM, CAFM, or similar asset management systems.
• Strong independent working, organisation and time management.
• Clear written and verbal notes for defects/observations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic surveys across production lines, utilities and support areas to identify all in-scope assets.
• Capture full technical details from equipment nameplates into structured forms.
• Create and affix new asset tags where missing; update tag references in the survey system.
• Classify assets (mechanical / electrical / instrument) and assign to the correct plant / area / system hierarchy.
• Assess and record asset condition, operational status, and safety observations.
• Compare field data with SAP / CAFM records and flag discrepancies (description, location, capacity, missing assets).
• Support junior engineers in use of templates, tag standards and photo evidence.
• Meet daily throughput targets while maintaining accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and continuous improvement feedback.
