A charity managing multiple properties seeks an ASSET SURVEYOR to oversee the school estate surveying programme in London. The role involves delivering condition surveys, managing estate compliance data, and advising on long-term management strategies while supporting the Operations Director with transitioning to Net Zero Carbon initiatives. Ideal candidates will hold relevant qualifications in Building Surveying and have experience in property disrepair surveys.
THE ROLE
My client is a charity managing multiple properties.
They are seeking an ASSET SURVEYOR, potentially a Building Surveyor or similar, to join their team in London.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering the cyclical school estate surveying programme, including conducting condition surveys and reports, ensuring H&S compliance, capturing accurate asset and compliance data, assessing estate condition, and providing long-term estate management recommendations.
Your duties include preparing Annual Condition Reports, recommending grant funding, managing projects and contracts for repairs and improvements to schools, conducting investigative building surveys, and determining works related to damp, disrepair claims, stock acquisitions, mergers, disposals, and other estate management tasks.
You will also quality assure surveys by contractors and consultants, provide technical advice on building defects, and support the Operations Director in developing the Estate Management strategy, including decisions on transitioning to Net Zero Carbon and prioritising school rebuilding programmes.
THE COMPANY
The organisation owns an estate of 180 schools and investment properties, including various types of properties.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will hold an HNC, BSc, MSc, or similar qualification in Building Surveying or related field.
Required experience includes:
Experience working on schools or colleges is advantageous but not essential.
You should possess excellent client-facing skills, a stable work record, and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
The salary range is £55,158 to £59,220 per annum, with a generous pension, 33 days holiday plus bank holidays.
