West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking an Asset Development Manager to shape the future of transport assets across the region. You’ll lead development of asset strategies, standards and maintenance specifications, translating complex challenges into practical, value-for-money solutions.

Based in Birmingham, the role involves working with internal and external partners to deliver major programmes such as bus infrastructure, depots, EV charging rollout and long-term asset strategies.

Qualifications

• Extensive asset management experience.
• Experience implementing new asset systems.
• Familiar with PAS 55 / ISO 55000.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop asset strategies for each asset group, considering objectives, whole-life costs, risks and stakeholder requirements.
• Develop and promote innovation in asset management techniques.
• Manage and develop direct reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Identify longer-term maintenance needs and develop contracts for related services.
• Collect and analyse asset data and produce concise reports and plans.
