Job summary

Southern Water is seeking an Asset Planner-Wastewater at our Falmer/Brighton area. The role focuses on long-term investment plans, risk-based decisions, and collaboration across teams to safeguard wastewater assets.

Hybrid working (2 days in office), full-time, permanent contract. Driving license and ability to travel to Sussex sites are essential. Training opportunities including IAM certification are available to support your development.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean UK driving license, access to a vehicle and be able to travel across a variety of our wastewater sites in the Sussex area.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement long-term investment plans in sync with regulatory frameworks and investment drivers including Capital Maintenance & Population Growth.
• Justify risk-based investment needs for your area to benefit customers and the environment.
• Support the development of decision-making tools and dashboards.
• Collaborate with other internal departments to achieve the above.

As an Asset Planner-Wastewater, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring a sustainable and reliable wastewater future for our communities. No need for a technical dictionary, your main gig is to collaborate with an awesome team to understand risks and investment needs in the catchment area, with assets including wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and pipework. Think of it as being the guardian of our wastewater assets, preventing issues like flooding and pollution.

Key Objectives Of The Role Are

• Create and implement long-term investment plans in sync with regulatory frameworks and other investment drivers including Capital Maintenance & Population Growth
• Use your analytical prowess to justify risk-based investment needs for your area to the benefit of customers and the environment.
• Support the development of decision – making tools and dashboards
• Working with other internal departments to achieve the above
