Astute’s Renewables Team is partnered with a leading business within the anaerobic digestion sector, who build and operate a portfolio of plants across the UK. They are looking for an Asset Manager in the Northwest of the UK, who will be responsible for the performance, maintenance planning, long-term value optimisation of their portfolio of anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.

Responsibilities and duties of the Asset Manager role
Reporting to the Senior Manager you will:
* Monitor and analyse performance KPIs (e.g., gas output, feedstock efficiency, downtime).
* Identify underperforming assets and drive performance recovery plans.
* Support the implementation of optimisation strategies across the portfolio
* Oversee planned and reactive maintenance strategies.
* Develop long-term asset lifecycle plans to optimise uptime and budget usage.
* Coordinate with site teams to schedule major overhauls and equipment replacements.
* Assist in the preparation and management of OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
* Track expenditure against budget and justify major capital projects.
* Deliver financial reporting and asset valuation input to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with environmental permits, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
* Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for critical assets.
* Maintain robust asset registers and documentation for audit readiness.
* Liaise with operational team, engineers, commercial teams, and external contractors.
* Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
* Support commercial discussions on feedstock supply and digestate outlets as they relate to asset performance.
* Contribute to upgrade, repowering, and expansion projects.
* Assist in technical due diligence for acquisitions or disposals of AD assets.
* Provide input on asset integration strategies during M&A processes.
* Other duties as required

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Asset Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Full UK driving licence (essential due to site travel)

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* High level of accuracy in checking & processing information
* Ability to form good relationships with colleagues, clients and vendors
* Able to work on own initiative and make effective decisions
* Proven experience managing industrial or energy assets, preferably in renewable energy or waste sectors.
* Understanding of anaerobic digestion processes and plant components.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills; ability to interpret technical and financial data.
* Knowledge of asset lifecycle principles, preventative maintenance, and
* CMMS systems.
* Familiarity with environmental and HSE regulations related to AD plants
