Are you looking for a rewarding role within Luton Rising, the Luton Council group company that owns London Luton Airport and is at the forefront of delivering Luton’s inspiring 2040 vision? This role could be for you!

We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Asset Manager to join our team and help develop the Luton DART’s asset management journey.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative infrastructure project, impacting the long-term performance, reliability, and integration of this strategic transport system.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Develop and implement asset management practices aligned with ISO55001, ensuring they are embedded across the Luton DART operation.
2. Support the creation of an integrated Asset Management System that is fit for purpose, future-ready, and aligned with strategic goals.
3. Oversee and finalize construction and commissioning activities carried out by the original delivery partners, ensuring operational excellence.
4. Act as a key interface between Luton Rising, Bartlett Square, and London Luton Airport, ensuring collaboration, smooth handovers, and aligned infrastructure strategies.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with recent experience managing various asset types—such as Civils, Mechanical & Electrical, Fire, and Communications—especially in environments where collaboration with external contractors is crucial for operational success.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders. Experience in developing and operating within, or progressing toward, an ISO 55001-compliant Asset Management System is essential.

Strong partnership and community engagement skills are key. You should be able to engage with stakeholders enthusiastically, share knowledge, value others’ expertise, and maintain constructive, trust-based relationships internally and externally.

You’ll need to influence and guide people at all organizational levels, including contractor teams, even without formal authority. Building relationships is central to your success, and you’ll be expected to foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and transparency.

Visible leadership is crucial—having the confidence and presence to inspire high performance, articulate a compelling vision, and motivate teams and individuals to achieve it.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are vital. You should be capable of assessing complex situations, identifying key components and implications, and developing practical solutions for sound decisions and outcomes.

A good understanding of ISO 55000 standards and their practical application is required. Candidates should possess a degree in Engineering with relevant experience, or significant experience within the Asset Management industry.
