Asset Management Systems Scientist

Start date: ASAP

Contract duration: 18 months

Maternity cover

Location: Oxfordshire – Fully on site

PAYE rate: £153.85pd

Umbrella rate: £208.47pd

Job Summary: We seek a self-motivated Asset Management Systems Scientist to join the CTEC Oxford team. The role involves metrology tasks including equipment purchase (URS, validation plan), installation (IQ/OQ), validation (CSV), and oversight of servicing/calibration cycles (PM/PQ). Extensive experience working in a GxP environment and familiarity with a QMS are required.

The role also includes lab-based analytical work involving the development and validation of in-house analytical methods using systems like HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, and FTIR. Knowledge in method development, validation, SOPs, reports, and technical documentation is essential. Skills in metrology, asset management, and possibly SIFT-Mass Spectrometry are advantageous.

This position is based at our new offices and laboratory in Milton Park, Abingdon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all equipment metrology for the department.
  • Follow procedures for equipment procurement and installation.
  • Coordinate servicing, including vendor management.
  • Perform GxP analytical testing as per protocols.
  • Develop and troubleshoot analytical methods for systems like HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorimetry, FT-IR.
  • Train new lab personnel.
  • Draft and review protocols, SOPs, technical reports, and test methods.
  • Utilize eQMS systems for lab activities in a GxP environment.
  • Interpret data, process results, and generate graphical reports.

Candidate Profile:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in metrology and analytical method development.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably MSc or PhD in Chemistry or related field. Other degrees considered.

Travel: No regular travel; occasional visits to GDC, North Wales may be required.

Working Conditions: Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
