Role summary:

Morgan Global Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of Morgan Asset Management. With $216 billion in assets under management and over 330 investment professionals, it offers strategies across real estate, private equity, credit, infrastructure, transportation, timber, liquid alternatives, and hedge funds.

The Technology Leader is a critical executive role responsible for strategic direction, digital transformation, and data management across portfolio companies. This role ensures technology development aligns with fund objectives, optimizes operational efficiency through off-the-shelf solutions, and enhances decision-making via advanced analytics. The incumbent will also foster collaboration between business and technology teams to drive innovation and business transformation.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Technology Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership in technology development, oversee design and implementation of scalable, secure solutions, prioritize off-the-shelf systems for efficiency, and develop bespoke solutions using agile methodologies.
  2. Collaboration and Engagement: Engage with JPM technology team as Product Owner, define software solutions, oversee implementation, and collaborate with GTG Technology Team on product requirements, sprints, code reviews, and development. Engage with portfolio companies on data and cybersecurity strategies.
  3. Digital Transformation and Project Management: Lead digital initiatives using cloud, microservices, and AI/ML, and manage complex projects ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  4. Data Management and Analytics: Implement data governance, advanced analytics, develop data strategies, and ensure data quality and consistency across the group.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between senior stakeholders and technology teams, facilitate communication, and oversee code and data quality systems.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Extensive experience in technology leadership within financial services.
  • Proven track record in digital transformation and innovative solutions.
  • Deep domain expertise in asset management, private equity, and shipping industry.
  • Experience with technologies like Microservices, .NET Core, Angular, React, Node, Java, Azure/AWS/Docker, ML/AI, NoSQL, blockchain.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and complex issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain collaborative relationships.
  • MSc in Computer Science or related field; PhD preferred.
  • Hands-on role experience, capable of development, project management, business analysis, and product ownership.
