JPMorgan Asset Management's European Real Assets Group specializes in identifying, analyzing, acquiring, and managing real estate assets through various ownership structures. As an investment manager, JPMAM develops, redevelops, and operates these assets while assessing capital markets and managing investment risks to optimize financing, diversification, and disposition strategies.
As an Asset Management - European Real Assets Group - Real Estate Controller - Vice President, you will collaborate with experienced professionals and be involved in all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, accounting, internal controls, and oversight related to real estate investments owned directly and through partnerships.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, review, management, and supervision of quarterly and annual financial reports for all investment products, including the annual audit process; enhance reporting quality and communication.
- Manage fund structures operationally, focusing on cash, capital, vendor management, and investor reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg regulations, US GAAP, IFRS, fund documentation, and control of local operator/partner accounting systems and records.
- Maintain and monitor portfolio liquidity, perform operational and risk analysis, and review fund performance data including return and attribution analysis.
- Prepare and strategically manage asset, fund, and business-level budgets and forecasts.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, providing financial insights to support strategic decisions and growth.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring excellent service and communication.
- Respond promptly and accurately to client inquiries using strong analytical skills.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date client data and metrics.
- Proactively manage client needs, develop relationships, and ensure timely delivery of all commitments.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
- Strong understanding of investment structures, debt documents, partnership agreements, and experience with various fund types and investments.
- Updated industry knowledge on real estate accounting and taxation changes in Europe and the US.
- Deep knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory requirements for investment funds, including AIFMD and CSSF regulations, and familiarity with currency implications and accounting treatments.
- Proficiency in IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP, and Fair Market Value accounting; Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of EU country issues affecting investments and fund accounting, as well as current industry trends and issues.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Decisiveness, ability to form opinions, solve problems, and recommend solutions.
- Strong project management skills, including resource management, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and building strong relationships.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software (e.g., Yardi) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of financial modeling is required.
